HOW DO I BOOK A CHARTER?
Charters can be booked by calling Captain Steele at (910) 620-9919 or completing the form on our website (click here and we'll call you ASAP). If we are unavailable due to being on charter, we will call you back as soon as soon we are back on dry land. Please note that you are guaranteed a call back - your inquiry is very important to us! Online bookings will be coming soon.
WHAT DO GUESTS NEED TO BRING?
Boats have limited storage, so just bring the necessities with you. These include:

Sun Protection: Sunscreen (preferably no spray), Hat, Sunglasses, Protective clothing

Food: Packed lunch, snacks, drinks (old fishermen tales believe bananas on a fishing boat are bad luck - no glass please!)

Zip Lock bags (for phone, wallet, camera, etc.)

Rain Gear (depending on weather - check with your Captain the day before)

Sea Sickness bands or pills (if you are prone to sea sickness or unsure, it never hurts to have on hand)

DO I NEED TO TIP?
Tipping for a fishing trip carries the same general rule as tipping your waiter with 10-20% being common practice. It's a good idea to start at 15% and go up or down depending on how satisfied you were with the trip. Keep in mind that guides spend hours preparing for a trip. Additionally, please note that the captain will likely share those earnings with any additional crew on board.
WHERE DO WE MEET FOR OUR CHARTER?
If you are in Southport, Oak Island or surrounding beaches or inland areas, we typically leave from Morningstar Marina in Southport, NC (click here for directions). For folks staying on Bald Head Island, we are happy to pick you up at Bald Head Island Marina (Captain Steele will let you know exactly where to go). However, we are always happy to discuss other options - just ask Captain Steele when booking your charter!
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY? DO I GET MY DEPOSIT BACK?
If trip is cancelled by client 7 days before or prior, deposit is refunded. If less than 7 days until charter, client is charged 50% of charter booked. If within 48 hours of the charter or failure to arrive at the scheduled charter, client is charged 100% of charter booked.
WHAT IS YOUR WEATHER POLICY?
Ensuring safety is our foremost priority, and we carefully assess inclement weather conditions. Weather-related cancellations typically occur on the same day as your scheduled charter. Your Captain will promptly communicate with you regarding any potential delays or cancellations. It's important to note that only the Captain has the authority to cancel trips due to weather conditions. If the Captain decides to cancel the trip for this reason, there will be no cancellation charge incurred.
CAN WE TAKE HOME THE FISH THAT WE CATCH?
You are welcome to keep any fish that you catch within the legal limit (your Captain will let you know). If you plan to take fish home, don't forget to bring a cooler for your car.
